Dry January and juice cleanses come and go. But are meat substitutes (like the Impossible Burger and Beyond Meat) going to stick to the grill for good? Although relatively new to grocery shelves and fast food outlets, 69% of Americans are already familiar with meat substitutes. Of them, 3 in 4 say they are likely to try it in the next six months.
Despite the hype and market opportunity, consumers are 10% less likely to try a meat substitute in a restaurant than they are to purchase it in a grocery store. Keep that in mind when ordering for the table.
